Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén, 1826) is one of critical rice pests in Northeast Asia. Till now around 85 mitochondrial genome sequences were already published, originated from China, Korea, and Japan. To understand haplotypes of complete mitogenome sequence of three East Asian countries, three mitogenomes (UJ, SC, and GS) of L. striatellus collected in South and East parts of Korean Peninsula were additionally completed and total 88 mitogenomes were analyzed in this study. Five Korean mitochondrial genomes were classified into the two haplotype groups, i.e. HGI and HGII, already identified in previous studies. Several characteristics (e.g., SNP, INDEL, and nucleotide diversity) of Korean L. striatellus mitochondrial genomes were compared with those of the other countries in this presentation. In the future, mitogenomes of L. striatellus will shed light on understanding migration and evolution of this species in three East Asian countries.
